Honor Courses
In my my 11th grade year I chose to participate in honors for all of my main classes which is Biology, Humanities and Math for both semesters. I will now describe what the courses consisted of for all of those classes above.
Biology
In honors Biology I was assigned a biweekly article that I would annotate and write questions I had about the article. Then after the two weeks were up I would meet during lunch with the other honors bio students and we would discuss our annotations. After that we would take a test on the article. We also were given an assignment where we had to attend ichthyology class, which is held by crash, for a minimum of 12 hours.
Humanities
In honors Humanities we would have a bi weekly article that we would annotate and then have a class discussion on. Through these articles we explored the narrative of the united states history from various lenses including socio-economic/political status, cultural background, ethnicity and gender. After the discussion we would write a reflection on the article.
Math
In honors Math we would meet in lunch on Tuesdays, It would be a fast paced lecture about a worksheet that was given, we would study it for a two weeks and when the third week came around we had a test.
