When I first started to write my down draft it was about chips and why have like the calories per serving size. Then I started to write I noticed i had nothing to say so I went to song analysis. Now my down draft is expanding about the song "Riptide" by Vance Joy Im doing it on my interpretation of the song, what others think and on what it actually means. In order to make my piece awesome I just need to add what it actually means

From what we had done this past week doing the practice interviews with the graphic organizer helped me the most. Not at first of course, we were just playing around not taking it seriously until Dr.P used me as an example. Doing that made me noticed what questions I had to ask for the response I want. I feel like im easy to talk to but learning about interview would teach me more on how to listen and get to know more people on a deeper level. Im not really sure on how im going to put this project higher than the others, I feel like each and every project is special/ rewarding in their own ways.
From earlier this week I remember seeing an animation of an interview of a little boy who was obsessed with animals interviewing his mom. I think that one stood out to me because I wasn't only hearing the interview I was watching it on how it could have been. An interview that i wished I had seen and from what people were posting on snapchat was Diego's interview where he was sitting on a chair looking down on someone laying on the floor faced up. That by far was the most interesting interview I sort of observed. For the upcoming project I want to interview my coach and hear stories of him working in different countries and going pro at 19 and the plans he has for the future.
Creating a poem of Jose and in order to have the sensory detail I had I had to interview him three separate times. I learned a lot of things about Jose that I didn't know before like about his family and sports that he played. Seeing other class mates poems help me out a little bit also having my partner high light the parts that need work. I think getting more cirque would help me much ,ore getting allot of other peoples input.
Looking over at pictures and writing what we think is happening or make a story behind it. It reminds me of 7th grade in Mr. kliens class when we were learning about the border in the project "border stories" the class had to look at images, I remember one where there were two kids playing volleyball over the border. Having the border be the divider between them.
Reading " The absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian" pushed my learning about Indians, To be honest I have never really paid attention to them. I just knew that they were there. So when I started reading this book I realized how much trouble they go through and how this boy feels about himself and lives on the rez. The Socratic seminar was challenging for me, not because I didn't read the article, I did but right now since its n the beginning for the year I just hadn't gotten comfortable with my class yet. So when Catlyin called on me to see what I thought i was kind of shocked, I didn't know what to say. The First week of Tenth grade was extremely fun, as it is always on the first week. We did some get to know each other games, performances and quick writes. The actiavity that stuck out to me the most and most enjoyed was the quick writes, writting about what, where home is to me ( Feels, sounds, taste, looks like). I enjoyed doing this because it got me thinking about all of the little things that just slip my mind when I think of home.
A piece of advice for Dr. P is that i am both a tactile and visual learner. For this years humanities class I would love to learn about world history and work on my essay writing skills because right now they are not were I would like it to be. |
