When Finding Nemo came out in 2003 the demand for “nemo” -clown fish- went over the roof. Scientist wanted to breed clownfish so need of them would be met without hurting the ecosystem. They found that they are easily breed in captivity. They then assumed since nemo was the main character in the movie and Since Finding dory was announced for release they knew that the demand for “Dory”-blue tangs- had to be met before it ruined the ecosystem. The breakthrough for our project would be able to breed blue tangs in captivity since it had never been done before with the help of Rising tide Conservation and seaworld. But first we needed to get the basic understanding on how to take care of freshwater fish and then eventually work our way up to saltwater fish. This Included Field trips and talks with seaworld and their conservation program.
