Project Description
In this project 10th grade students took on the role of participating in the annul two day MUN conference. Each student was given a committee where they have to represent a country they were given. I represented Afghanistan in the committee of UNICEF 1 where we mainly focused on the rights of children.
Education and Healthcare in Afghan War Child
The links above were most helpful when it actually came to making resolutions the conference. I came across the education and health care by looking up basic country research such as "Afghanistan Education". I took me a while to find the other onr because its very difficult for me to research, one of my friends actually sent me an email with many links because she knew I was having trouble. Something that stuck out to me was the statistic of rape of women in Afghanistan
Position Paper .
Comparing my first draft to my second and final draft are not that much different because of the critique I got and the research I had to find in the short amount of time. The most helpful was probably from my friend, Michelle. She told me to add more statistics on both topics to draw their attention to make them care about whats happening.
Opening Speech
My first draft was my final draft because I didn't have time to get critique in the very short amount of time we were given to even write the speech. I wish i could of prepared a second opening speech relating to the first topic because I though we were talking about both topics at the same time not doing one on Wednesday and the other on Thursday. I ended up talking about the second topic on the first day.

The Conference
Personally I am most proud of my whole committee liking my proposal on how to comfort the rape victims even having them add onto it. I think it was cool having most of our resolutions pass except for one that was just insane. But it was very easy to get your ideas across because everyone was super cooperative. I think to have the students to feel ready for the conference is not to pile all of the work at once so we don't feel overwhelmed and get stressed out. A golden moment was when we suspend debate and I threw all of my research in trash where it belongs... just kidding! A golden moment was when they came in to give us a "crisis" and we had already solved it in our resolution before they came in.
