I believe the purpose of math 2 was to be comfortable with the qualities of a mathematician which is questioning, experimenting, recognizing patterns , collaborating, justifying, and growth mindset. Because that's what we spent most of our time on as 10th graders.
Artifacts
My math portfolios (Quadratics, Probability, Similarity). Quadratics involved factoring and graphing quadratics. In this unit i learned how to plug in functions and graph. Probability involved the concept of chance,In this unit I learned how to determine a chance occurring.Here is my groups Dp for the project. Similarity involved noticing the similarity in shapes and solving equations, In this unit I learned how to justify why the shapes are similar.
Reflection
10th grade math was fun I enjoyed having Mr. C as my teacher because he would have mini lectures on how to solve a problem then the next day he would project a similar problem and have us talk with our table mates on how we would solve it, the thing was it didn't really matter if we had the right answer it just mattered if we knew how to explain why we got what we did. He didn't think it was necessary to have us memorize the formulas he wanted us to learn from our mistakes. I'm hoping for next year I would want to push myself in recognizing patterns. This year my strenghts were asking questions when I was confused within my table group and collaborating. My stretches were justifyijgn my solution because all I did was explain what I did but I didnt really know why.
